As part of the 15th annual Caption UK small press and indy comics
convention, we will be putting on an Art Exhibition on the theme of
"Remix".

This year, Caption is being held on the 5-6 August 2006, at the East
Oxford Community Centre.

If you would like to take part in the exhibition we are looking for
pieces on the Remix theme. This could mean re-designing an existing
character; shuffling the panels on a pre-existing strip, and inserting
new dialogue; taking a non-comics idea and re-inventing it as a comic;
if you're known for a particular art style, try something different!
Basically take something old and remix it into something new!

We would also like to include the exhibition pieces in the convention
programme booklet. To be included in the booklet please send 300dpi
scans to jay.eales at googlemail.com, or send good copies or original art
to Jay Eales, 38 Clarkes Road, Wigston, Leics, LE18 2BE by the 15th
July 2006.

If you feel you cannot make that deadline, but would still like to
provide a piece for the exhibition please send the artwork to the
above address by the 2nd August, or present it at the Caption
registration desk when you arrive.

Please indicate when providing your artwork whether you would like it
returned, or whether you would be prepared to donate it to the Caption
Auction, which will take place on the evening of Saturday 5th August.
All proceeds from the Caption Auction will go towards paying for
special guests to attend Caption in coming years.

Now, we don't want all those writers out there to feel left out, so
this year we are also putting out a call for one-page comic scripts.
The scripts will be copied and distributed at Caption for artists to
have a stab at illustrating during the event.

Again we are looking for scripts on the theme of Remix, which can be
interpreted in any manner you wish. Please send one-page scripts to
the email or postal address above by Tuesday 2nd August.

Also, if any writers would like to produce articles with a Remix-y
slant for the Caption programme booklet then please let us know as
soon as possible.
